Driving north east on Route 50 towards Kansas City, today its just driving, we hope to reach Springfield Illinois which is 649 miles from Dodge City. Best we can manage is 50 miles an hour so 13 hours of driving, the plains are flat, this is part of the agricultural heartland and the geographical center of the Us is Lebanon, Kansas. its a rich and green and scattered with small towns and grain silos and trucking depots. it seems to be amazing well organized. Stopped to fill up and got a free coffee!
